Prof. Dr. Mehmet Yavuz

About Me

I am a Full Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences at Necmettin Erbakan University, Türkiye. I am also a visiting professor at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Informatics, Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Kyrgyzstan. I received my BSc in Mathematics from Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University in 2009 and earned both MSc (2012) and PhD (2016) degrees in Applied Mathematics from Balıkesir University.

I conducted postdoctoral research at the Department of Mathematics, University of Exeter, UK, during 2019–2020. My research spans a wide range of topics in applied and theoretical mathematics, including biomathematics, infectious disease and population dynamics, stochastic analysis, machine learning, neural network theory, fractional-order systems, bifurcation theory, optimal-adaptive controls and dynamical systems.

I have published over 130 peer-reviewed journal articles, 80 conference papers, 6 edited books, and 12 book chapters in international volumes. In recognition of my contributions, I have received multiple national and international awards, including three gold medals for international research collaboration and three awards for scientific productivity in science and engineering disciplines.

Since 2021, I have been listed among the world’s top 2% of efficient scientists, based on metrics such as citations and h-index, in global rankings compiled by Elsevier and Scopus in collaboration with Stanford University. Beyond my scholarly output, I play an active editorial role in the academic community.

Apart from being an Associate Editor in several reputed journals, Guest Editor for more than 30 Special Issues, I am the Editor-in-Chief of the journals “Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Simulation with Applications (ISSN: 2791-8564)”, “Bulletin of Biomathematics (ISSN: 2980-1869)”, “Mathematical Modelling for Sustainable Engineering (ISSN: 3104-9877) and “Manas Journal of Engineering (ISSN: 3104-9877)”. I am also the convener and chairman of the International Conference on Mathematics and Applied Data Science (ICMADS).
